Book: New Titans
Arc: Titans Hunt
Courtney Whitmore sighed as she watched the snowfall outside of her New York hotel room. The big city lights glow like the stars above, obscured by the manufactured lights. She was scribbling notes down in a dog eared copy of Great Gatsby
. “What are you doing Gatsby, Daisy’s a garbage person. Well, you’re also a garbage person, but at least Leo played you in the movie.”
The eighteen-year-old was away from home on a college visit. Pat Duggan and Barbara Whitmore had decided to see the sights of the city and have a quiet dinner. Courtney had basically pushed them out of their room to enjoy this small vacation. In the last few days, they had visited NYU, Hudson, Columbia, and more. As much as she enjoyed visiting these places, she felt smothered. It seemed like her parents were asking the questions more than she was. Courtney didn’t even want to go on said trip.
She should have been at home hanging out with Maxine as they went through this garbage heap of a book. Courtney didn’t want to think about her future, not when the past was gnawing at her. Just over a year ago, she had discovered a team of heroes predating the Justice League. Her and Captain Marvel and the rest of them were about to fight an angry mob when...well it was still hard to explain. She just remembered a flash of pink light and a crackle, and then suddenly it was just her and Cap...alone.
“I’m not going to get anything done...am I?” she mumbled before tossing the book aside. Quickly Courtney picked up the TV remote and turned on the television, expecting something lame like a rerun of an old sitcom or CSPAN. Instead, GBS News’ chyron read: CITY ATTACKED: NEW YORK FACING NEW CRISIS?
Before the report could continue to come through Courtney had already changed into her colorful blue, white, and red costume. Her staff screwed apart into two pieces to better fit her luggage was quickly reassembled as the heroine headed out to help her potential new home. Stargirl was about to brighten up New York City.
“This is such a bad idea,” Arsenal mumbled as he pulled another arrow from his quiver. “Shouldn’t we be running the hell out of here?”
“We can’t risk these Wildebeests hurting anyone,” Nightwing responded as they ran across the rooftops of Star City. “If we make them chase us long enough...we can study their moves and plan a counter strike.”
“Oh look at you saying big words you,” Arsenal responded as the energy bolts fired behind them. “Last time I checked we can’t freakin’ plan a counterattack when those fuckers have us on the run.”
“What’s your plan then, run to your boss for help? Because that would just start a gang war!” he said before jumping off and on to the next roof. Dick Grayson was used to this type of chase. The leaping in the air on a brisk night. For a minute when he closed his eyes it almost felt as if he was back at the circus again. The zing of an energy blast flying past his head reminded him otherwise.
“You know nothing about me, pretty boy,” Arsenal responded with gritted teeth as he jumped and turned around, firing an explosive arrow at the soldiers, sending a few of them flying towards the rooftop’s floor. As Arsenal rolled from the jump he exclaimed “We’re too exposed on the rooftops, didn’t Bats teach you the best approach is to hide in the shadows?”
“So how do you propose we do that then?” Nightwing said as kept running, vaulting over a junction box to keep his momentum up.
“The alleyways. I know them like the back of my hand, we can pick them off there instead of getting our asses handed out there,” he said. “I mean what’s the worst they can throw at us, another group of guys with guns? I can handle guys with guns.”
“Fine, but have to find a place to regroup. We can’t run all night,” Nightwing responded as he leaped to the ground below, bouncing off of the walls. Not realizing that he and Arsenal were about to become rats in a Wildebeest maze.
Donna Troy ran against the crowd that fled from the smoke from Hell’s Kitchen. “I’m not getting my security deposit back,” Donna thought to herself as she realized just how serious the Wildebeest threat was. They had known who she was, where to find her, and armed to the teeth in high-tech weaponry. If she was smart...if she was more like Diana..she would have run, live to fight another day. But that girl needed her help judging by the bright yellow flashing lights.
Donna could hear a voice calling out from the smoke. A shadow was darting behind the smoke on...a floating staff?
“Oh come on!” A voice called out.
As Donna cleared through the smoke she could see that...that girl from where was it again? Fawcett? Either way, Donna had heard about the Stargirl that had helped the Marvel Family, but it was clear she was over her head against an armed force. A group of Wildebeests had camped out on the streets shooting at the heroine above. The girl didn’t realize that another force had gathered on the roof.
“Stargirl!” Donna called out as she charged into the battle. “Look up on the rooftops! I got these guys!”
“Who the hell is that?” Stargirl thought before realizing the woman was right. Quickly she turned around and sent a volley of blasts towards the goons on the rooftop. “Nice call!” Stargirl called out as she observed the woman in grey sweatpants and black leather jacket.
Donna smiled as her fist connected with the first Wildebeest’s helmet, sending him flying across the pavement. As the others turned their fire to her she spun and kicked the second in the chest, his armor protected him, but still staggered him. Donna had forgotten how good she was at this. That fighting to protect people felt like a muscle that hadn’t been used in a long time. Of course,, she hadn’t paid attention to the third and fourth soldier.
Donna went flying into a bodega as the energy blasts connected with her. The glass shattering as the shelves collapsed on top of her.
“No!” Stargirl yelled as her mystery savior had been shot at. Quickly she moved to the ground and swung her staff at the third goon, shattering his helmet and sending him into the ground like the other two Donna had taken care of. The fourth had a quick draw however and prepared to fire at the young heroine. But before he could a shelf filled with cheap snack food and energy drinks came flying at him, sending him in the pile with his other friends.
Donna Troy emerged, minus her tattered jacket and looked at the girl in front of her.
“Nice moves,” Donna said as she brushed off the chip and debris dust off of her. “You good?”
“Yea, I just never...never dealt with something like this before,” Stargirl responded. “Wait aren’t...aren’t you Fury? The Teen Titan?! I thought you were...you know...gone?”
“Well...retired,” Donna responded. “And you can call me Donna.”
“Well, Donna…” Stargirl said. “Do you have any ideas who these guys are?”
“No, but they seem to know me, I've kept a low profile for years now and yet...these guys know who I was, where I was, and well equipped to take me out.” Donna looked back at the smoking remnant of her apartment from the ground. She needed help, and there was only one person to call. “You wouldn’t happen to have a cell phone would you?”
“Sir,” A Wildebeest grunt said inside of their compound. “New status reports are coming in on some of our targets. We’ve managed to capture the heroine Cyclone, she’s on her way now. We’re tracing the speedster and Arsenal and Nightwing have moved into the alleys.”
Wildebeest Prime sat in his chair as he looked at the screens in front of him. The news channels had picked up the chase in Star City, and the carnage in New York. He frowned as his eyes darted to the vital signs at the bottom right corner. “Still stable,” he thought before turning to the soldier in front of him.
“And Fury and Stargirl? He said coldly.
“They...they may have beaten back our patrols. I’m deploying more to hopefully…”
“No,” his leader responded. “Deploy the hybrids, finish this quickly. Don’t give them time to regroup.”
“But sir, the genetic labs still are unsure if they’re stable. What you’re asking…”
“The standard soldiers have failed. I want results. Do it or I won’t hesitate to have you be their first target. Understood?”
“Understood... “ the grunt mumbled before walking out of the cold sterile metallic room, leaving Wildebeest Prime as he always was...alone.
As he sat and looked at the holographic screens, he looked at the security footage of his daughter, hooked up to wires and tubes that kept her alive. What should have been simple had turned into a boondoggle. He only hoped the military force he had paid and supplied for would come through. He needed all of them if his plan had any hope to succeed. He was going to get his daughter back after all...he just needed patience.
“Ok we’re going to cross into Hester Blvd. and then there should be this dive bar called Nocking Point. The owner owes me a favor,” Arsenal said as him and Nightwing moved through the alleys. They had stuck in the shadows and hid behind whatever they could find. Refuge would soon be at hand.
“Aren’t you a little concerned that we lost those patrols a little too easily,” Nightwing responded. He had noticed how quiet things had gotten. These soldiers were skilled, but since they had dropped into the streets things had almost been too easy. “It feels like we’re being led into a trap.”
“Seriously, for such a big time superhero, you’re awfully nervous. Trust me when I say I’m pretty sure we’re nearly safe. Call it...a sixth sense,” Arsenal responded before he prepared to move. “Besides, what’s the worst that could happen?”
A large figure had quickly dropped to the ground in front of the two heroes. The concrete street had cracked as the figure’s metal hooves began kicking the debris from behind it as he stood and faced them. THe hulking figure covered in metal plated armor, its visible skin grey and hairy. The large tusks and snout indicated this beast was no man. But some kind of Wildebeest Man.
“ARRRRRGH!” It called out before charging at the two heroes. While Nightwing managed to leap over the creature, Arsenal was caught dead in it path. The creature grabbed him and threw him hard against the wall. “AH!” Arsenal cried out before trying to get back up. “OK...maybe I underestimated the worst thing.”
“You think?” Nightwing yelled out before examining his options. The creature didn’t seem smart, it relied on more of its instincts than anything else. “Look for the weak spots, Dick,” Nightwing thought as he noticed a gap in between the raised metal collar of the suit and the helmet it wore.
“Arsenal!” he called out. “Keep it focused on you. I have a plan!”
“Great,” Arsenal muttered as he got up and shot an arrow at the monster. It connected with the monster’s breastplate bouncing off before it looked at Arsenal with a look of annoyance. Quickly it moved to grab the archer. Before Arsenal could even nock another arrow it lifted him up in the air and prepared to stain the rusted bricks with Roy’s crimson blood. “Shit,” Arsenal thought. “I forgot to call the si…”
Before Arsenal could finish his thought Nightwing had lept onto the monster’s back and wedged his electrified escrima sticks between the armor. The combined hundred thousand volts had shocked the creature unconscious, sending him and Arsenal to the ground.
“Ow,” the hero muttered as he got up. “Why is it always me who gets his ass kicked by these things, and you get to be the golden boy?”
“Because I’m not a sellout,” Nightwing responded. “Don’t think I haven’t heard the rumors about you Arsenal. You deserve more than this.”
“But considering you don’t have a lot of friends around you,” Arsenal began. “You’re stuck with me. Whatever happened to your little pals. Abandoned them when the adults bumped you up from the kids' table. Or did they just get sick of your righteous indignation?”
“Why don’t you just shut,” Nightwing began. Bzzt Bzzt
Nightwing’s left pouch buzzed. Quickly he pulled his phone out and noticed it was an unfamiliar number. Not many people had his phone number.
“Who is this, and how did you get this?” he began before quickly being interrupted.
“Dick, it’s Donna. I was just attacked by some...paramilitary group. I need your help,” the voice on the other end responded. “They knew who I was Dick.”
“Who the hell is that?” Arsenal asked.
“Shut it,” Nightwing responded before going back to his call. “Let me guess, advanced weaponry, red armor, and a helmet that has stylized tusks on it?”
“Uh-huh, Dick...I think someone’s hunting Titans. We need to warn the others and regroup.”
“I’m not sure that’s a good idea Don, every time we get people together it doesn’t exactly go well. It’s better if I handle this alone and not get you dragged back into this. You’re retired, I’m not. I can point you to the nearest League safe house while I get…”
“Dick they attacked me in my home, I’m not going to let this lie. Plus I may have dragged in someone else in this mess. Do you remember a Stargirl by chance?”
Nightwing rubbed the brow of his nose realizing that this was going to get messier before it got better, and as much as he hated to admit it, Donna was right. Dick didn’t know if he would be able to get someone from the league on short notice and their foe had made it personal.
“Fine,” he muttered. “We’ll regroup back at Knockout Video, I still keep it as a storefront for gear and a place to rest.”
“Dick,” Donna said through the phone. “We’re going to need to warn the others as well.”
Nightwing sighed once again. He kept tabs on his former teammates but he was well aware that many of them didn’t exactly want to speak to their former leader. The past still hung over all of them like a blackened cloud.
“Well Kory’s offworld last time I checked, Rose...hasn’t been seen in years, Garth’s protected by his kingdom, and Vic and Gar probably wouldn’t answer my calls. But I know one person who will…”
“Ok,” she responded. “Stay safe out there.”
“Thanks,” he said before hanging up. Quickly he began dialing another number. He didn’t expect the person to pick up, but he still had to try.
“So who’s Donna?” Arsenal asked. Roy Harper felt out of the loop as he eavesdropped on that conversation. “And where the hell is Knockout Video and why is so important we get there and who the hell are you calling next?”
“Quiet,” Nightwing said, shushing the other vigilante. He didn’t expect the other person to pick up, but he knew that if they were going to hunt down those gunning for them, they were going to need something more. “Wally...it’s Dick...we have...a situation…”
“Sir the hybrid failed in capturing Arsenal and Nightwing. And the one we tried to send to go after Fury and Stargirl melted out of its incubation tube,” a Wildebeest soldier responded back to Wildebeest Prime. “Failure was not an option,” their leader muttered. “What can we do to salvage the operation and bring them to me. And If you don’t have any ideas...well...I can make good on my threat.”
The soldier gulped before responding.
“We do know where they’re going through sir. Our people managed to place a tracker on Fury when they blasted her. It gives off specific energy we can trace. And they don’t even know it, sir.”
“Good. When they regroup, send as many troops as we can. And tell genetics to prepare more hybrids as if their life depends on it...because it does. We know where they’re going...and soon...soon they will ours.”
… NEXT: The New Titans finally assemble in a familiar haunt as old wounds are ripped open and the Wildebeests surround them in...The Siege of Knockout Video! Plus the Secret History of Wildebeest Prime revealed!

2020.11.02 20:41 FiftyOneMarks [Potential Spoilers] The DCU Dream, Reformatting and Expanding (4/?)
Part of my continued pet project I put on hold due to life. However, the recent Red Hood announcement made me want to get back into it. The previous “spin-off” focused on Donna Troy can be found here
. Now, here is my proposed spin-off for Red Hood & The Outlaws Synopsis-
“After dying at the hands of an old foe, Jason Todd finds himself given a new chance at life. However, upon returning to life, he realized that he no longer has a place among the Titans or even with his mentor, a Bruce Wayne, who has recruited many new allies in his absence. Even more, upon learning that Bruce didn’t attempt to avenge his death, Jason completely abandons any ideas of returning to the life he once lead. Now, he has decided to forge his own path and even more, forge his own team of Outlaws just like him”. Roster
Jason Todd as Red Hood,
Rose Wilson as Ravager,
Joseph Wilson as Jericho,
David Isherwood (as David Isherwood),
Kent Clark as Bizarro,
Amy Allen as Bombshell,
Mary Turner as Strix,
Artemis Grace as Requiem,
Matt McGinnes as Red X,
Sasha Nikos as Skarlet,
Calvin Rose as Talon,
Casey Washington (as Casey Washington),
Connor Hawke as Longbow,
Rye Ander as Darkfire Breakdown:
After the midseason events of Titans Season 2, Jason would return to Gotham with Rose. However, upon learning of her deception, he would completely loose his faith in the Titans and seek to return to Wayne Manor. However, he would discover that Bruce has already replaced him as robin with the newly recruited Tim Drake. Even more, Bruce has recently learned that he fathered a child with Talia Al Ghul and is now responsible for raising Damien Wayne. Hurt by this, Jason would seek to take out one of Batman’s most formidable foes, the Joker, in order to prove his worth. Jason would die in this interaction only to be returned to life months later. Scarred by his death, Jason’s aggression and rage would be heightened to extremes as he takes his anger out on the criminals of Gotham and takes on a new persona as the Red Hood. During his rampage, Rose would return to Gotham upon hearing learning from Dick of Jason’s revival. At first attempting to remind Jason of who he was and make amends for her deception, she would soon find herself joining in his crusade when Jason promises to help her find a way to restore her brother’s body and bring him back to life as well. The duo then officially become a team, realizing that the Titans were merely a stepping stone and they’ve both outgrown the team as well as their past.
After a time, Jason and Rose would discover that Talia al Ghul, at the behest of Bruce, was behind his resurrection and while he does not necessarily forgive Bruce, Jason requests that since Bruce didn’t avenge his death, he would like one favor; access to the Lazarus Pit so that he and Rose can bring Joseph back to life. While warned by Talia that Joseph has been dead far longer than Jason, and thus will return even more damaged and unstable, Rose and Jason still decide to go through with the resurrection. When Joseph comes back to life, his psyche is shattered almost beyond repair and he finds himself battling numerous personalities in his mind (mainly Slade) and dealing with new psychic abilities. Seeking help for Joseph’s instability, Jason and Rose track down a former friend of Slade’s by the name of David Isherwood. Once operating as Tech Support for Slade, David agrees to help repair Jericho’s damaged mind as well as helps the team in their endeavors by using his connections to support their endeavors. He also uses these connections and advanced technical skills to give them new suits and (slightly less lethal) weaponry.
Later, Jason becomes reacquainted with Sasha Nikos, a girl from his past who he saved early in his time as Robin. Seeing that Sasha is just as lost and vengeful as he is, Jason recruits her to his team in order to give the girl a meaningful outlet for her rage and help her “save others from their fates”. First helping her get revenge on the man that killed her father, Jason takes a vested interest in Sasha, now dubbed Skarlet, and she often acts as Jason’s right hand during missions. Sometime after, Jason has a run in with the son of the Green Arrow, Connor Hawke. After a brief stint where he sought to join the Justice League, Connor decided it wasn’t for him. He was then urged by Bruce and his father Oliver to track down Jason and join in his crusade in order to forge his own identity as well as hopefully add a more heroic element to Jason’s team. At first unsure of Todd and his allies, Connor eventually succeeds in curbing the teams more violent impulses and uses his connections to help their public image which gets the GCPD off their backs.
During a mission where the team seeks to stop Black Mask, Jason meets Artemis Grace and immediately recognizes her as an Amazon. Initially believing the other is involved with Black Mask, they soon find themselves attacked by Black Mask and realize they are on the same side. During this mission, they also have a run in with Bizarro. Realizing that the kryptonian is being controlled by Black Mask, Jason, Artemis, and the rest of the team help overwhelm Black Mask’s telepathic hold on Bizarro and defeat the villain. Afterwards, Kent, who has begun to form his own identity outside of being the last Superman Clone, requests that Jason and the team help him become a better person and hero in his own right. Meanwhile, Artemis reveals that the reason for her run in with the team and Black Mask is because she is ssearching for the Bow of Ra, an item important to her tribe of Amazons. In the hopes of convincing her to stay with the team, Jason and Co decide to help her in her endeavor.
Sometime later, the team returns to Gotham and officially forms their identity as the Outlaws. Sharing the city with the current Gotham Knights, they soon find themselves begrudgingly and briefly forced to work alongside the other team in order to save Calvin Rose, a member of the Court of Owls seeking to escape his fate. Calvin, who left the Court after refusing to assassinate Casey and her young daughter, requests the help of both teams who agree to help him face the Court and earn Calvin and the Washingtons their freedom. Afterwards, Calvin thanks the team and while briefly considering joining the Gotham Knights, he ultimately decides to join Jason’s team. Casey, who has inherited her fathers incredibly advanced security company, helps further enhance the teams operations as she is grateful for saving the life of her and her young daughter. While she does not get directly involved, she does support Calvin and the team in their efforts and often works alongside David in a mission control capacity. She also serves to continually remind the team not to cross the line and does not want the violent lives they lead to impact her daughter or her relationship with Calvin.
Upon hearing of the new defeat of the Court of Owls, Mary Turner, another former Talon like Calvin, returns to Gotham after years of absence. Having spent time working with other heroines, she tracks down Calvin, Jason, and the others and decides that she wants to join them in their efforts of protecting Gotham as well as hunt down the remaining members of the Court in order to put a permanent end to their influence and terror. While not necessarily interested in being a hero, Mary does find a sense of accomplishment in helping the team while also keeping the villains of Gotham from taking over the city. Another later member of the team would be Amy Allen, a former foe the original Titans had fought in their early days. While she had initially planned to join the Titans in San Francisco, she realized they weren’t quite her style and instead found herself heading towards Gotham when word of the Outlaws reaches her. At first, the group is hesitant to trust Amy when they learn about her history but Jericho urges them to and Amy soon proves herself a valuable, albeit difficult, member of the team.
After the Outlaws have successfully rehabilitated their image in the eyes of the public, Jason finds himself trusted with two protégés. The first is Matt McGinnes, the younger brother of Terry McGinnes who has already begun training to become Bruce’s successor. When Terry finds himself forced to become Batman far sooner than intended, he requests that Jason take Matt under his tutelage and further his training in a way no one else can. Jason, realizing that Terry wants him to toughen Matt up, focuses intently on teaching the boy what it takes to survive, much to Matt’s frustration. However, Matt eventually comes to respect Jason and sees him as another sibling. The last person to join the Outlaws would be Rye Ander, Kori’s younger brother who arrived on Earth a few years prior and now seeks to become a hero in his own right. Not wanting to become a Titan like his sister, Kori recommends Rye join the Outlaws in their endeavors. At first, Rye comes off as wide-eyed and almost childish but quickly proves himself to be just as formidable and as skilled of a warrior as his two big sisters. Seasonal Big Bads
Season 1 would be incredibly street-level, a bit slower as Jason adjusts to returning to life and experiences harsh flashbacks of all the things that led up to his death. He’d also suffer bouts of psychosis which plays into his almost suicidal mission to stop the Penitente Cartel. Led by El Penitente (with Gabriel Santo, Tony Li, Merriwether, Rodney Fidget, Romeo Romero, Aitch-Eyes), they want to filter drugs into the city’s water supply and get the population addicted. As the only one who knows about the Cartels plan, Jason is almost too late to stop them until he is joined by Rose and the mentally unhinged but powerful Jericho towards the season end.
Season 2 would see Jason investing Faye Gunn who uses her boarding school as a front for criminal activity. During this time, Jason would take Sasha under his wing as Rose and David are focused on Jericho. Eventually, Jason is able to put an end to Ma Gunn but discovers her link to the the False Face Society led by Black Mask and includes Nicholas Kotero, Flamingo, Terminus, and Godiva). As Jason sets his sights on the FFS, he learns of their blames to destroy Wayne Enterprises and has an internal crisis due to his hatred of Bruce. Around this time, Connor would arrive and ultimate would help Jason and the others take down the FFS. This would also be when the team encounters Artemis and Kent who help them in the end.
Season 3 would take a step into the magical aspects of the world with the team helping Artemis track down a lost relic of her people but eventually discovering it is also being sought after by the Circle, a group of evil Amazons. At the same time, Kent would begin to forge his own identity, Jericho would focus on his powers, while Jason debates with the others their goal as a team. At the end of the season, the team would face off with the Circle who has found the Bow of Ra and wants to use its power to wage war against those who have not only threatened their home but turned their back on them to embrace the world of men.
Season 4 would see the official formation of the team and their acknowledgment as one by their other allies and friends. Soon after setting up base Appleton, a town near Gotham, the team would find themselves on the trail of a new criminal organization called the Underlife led by the mobster Underbelly. Among its members are Breaker, Camorouge, The Regulator, and Solitary. Seeking to expand his criminal empire, the team would work to destroy every last resource at Underbelly’s disposal.
Season 5 would see somewhat of a crossover arc with Titans as Charles Wilson, the grandfather of Rose and Joseph who has manipulated other allies of Slade to help him attack the team for what he claim is to avenge his son. Among these foes would be Wintergreen, Wade Defarge (Slades brother) as Terminator, Lillian Worth as Sweet Lili, Bill Walsh as Jackal, the spy Etienne, and Wardell Chambers. Charles would actually be after Joseph, drawn to his incredible psychic powers and wanting to use them to make himself unstoppable. Upon his defeat, he would also reveal Slade is actually still alive although no one knows where he is.
Season 6 would involve Sebastian Clark as the Grandmaster of the Court of Owls with the O’Malley Brothers Brandon, James, and Nathaniel alongside Felix Harmon, John Wycliffe, and Lincoln March. Attempting to induct a new Talon in the form of Calvin, the Court of Owls would be working on a plot to shift the political power structures of Gotham. During the course of this, Jason would somewhat work alongside Bruce and Co, finally making peace with his past in Gotham and the trauma that led to his death.
Season 7 would see a shift towards more magical aspects as Peng Li Zhao manipulates the team into murdering the being known as the Earth Dragon which he claims is a danger to the world. Instead, Zhao and the Monkey Fist Cult (Edison Hoon, Silver, Bamboo, Bronze, Obsidian, and Paper) would be after the power themselves with plans to use it to eliminate all their enemies and attempt global domination. The group are only defeated when Connor is able to use the remaining blood of the Dragon to strip the Cult of the Dragon’s power and kill them in the process.
Season 8 would see Jason reacquainted with some of his early mentors, the All-Caste who requires he and the Outlaws help to deal with the threat of the Untitled, a clan of nigh immortal siblings who have become the loving embodiments of pure evil. As the team battles their allies (Suzie Su, Xiao Loong, Fangfeng, and Lord Death Man), Jason pulls every last resource or connection he’s made since becoming Robin to find a solution. Upon stopping the Untitled’s plans, he finally feels like he has transcended who he was and has become a full fledged hero in his own right. Final Notes
I’d like to think my proposed storyline and alterations for a Red Hood series work well enough within the confines of the show. I took a majority of the inspiration for the Cast from the Red Hood rosters (Connor and Rye taking the places of Starfire and Roy) and also added in a few more “anti” hero characters to keep with the more aggressive and mature tone a Red Hood series would entail. I also didn’t want to just make it a “Batfam” series which is why many of the villains comes from other Outlaws’ rosters but have been altered to include Jason and the team. It’s also why his permanent base becomes located in Appleton but is still near Gotham. There are also a couple hints of some other “shows” alluded throughout this post. Also, not sure how long this will go on... probably until I run out of characters and/or team names tbh.

2020.10.30 18:18 Funnylittlecreature9 With DC'S Future State coming, I remembered the story I wrote about a potential DC future. This takes heavy inspiration from Injustice, Batman beyond and The Dark Knight Returns. (Issue 11 is a flashback)
Chapter 1 : Rise of the Robin Damian wayne fights crime as a vigilante that looks like Redhood. A thief screams "It's Batman!". Batman uses tech to explode their vehicles from a distance and bludgeons them. He jumps from rooftop to rooftop under the violet rising sun of Neo-Gotham. He goes into the bat-cave and opens a containment cell. The Joker's head, strapped to a wall makes fun of the Batman. Batman questions him about the "sand" shipment he just blew up. The Joker messes with him and notices how Damian is weaker mentally than Bruce. He tells a story about one of their earliest toils and how Batman's life came to an end. He was stabbed through the heart by Bane. Batman looks out the balcony at the burning city and gets called by "FLASH_2". Earlier that day, Kid Flash slows down in Keystone city and meets a voice calling himself the spectre. "A crisis is coming, Wally west, you are the first step in stopping it". He asks "What's the second?" A report on Superman airs. His life fighting Lex luthor and Zod. Batman explains in the Old star labs laboratory in Central city that the Luthor documents ended a lot for the heroes. Lex Luthor was arrested and so was 60% of heroes and villians. Only the strongest survived the new status quo. The Flash and The Spectre beg with Batman to join them stop an incoming invasion from Infinity island but he doesn't join. He goes back to Gotham and stops another sand shipment, but this time, it swerves into a Batman monument and it reminds him of what it means to be Batman. Batman never was alone, he had Dick, Barbara, Jason, Tim, him... he would crumble too if he rejects everyone around him. The Flash and The spectre try to hack Argus, when Batman drops a thumbdrive on the table. "Let's save Victor stone and stop whatever crisis you say is knocking at the door".

He jumps down to kill her but Lobo throws him against the wall with a chain "IF I CAN'T RIP METRON'S @#$% OFF YOUR'LL HAVE TO FARE!". Starman watches them and uses the tower to get away from droids. The three leaguers get to a foyer. Kent Nelson explains the helmet of Fate has lost all power. Kent realises Gavin is in the building. This is enough evidence for Wally to explain the helmet must have given him natural power like Constantine. Gavin apologizes and they work together to fight off the androids. Kent walks them through the library and Gavin says the Atom had all that contract stuff with Blackgate. They all facepalm as he forgot he's 15 years in the future. John explains he killed Hal and got Guy killed and deserves to be killed. Atom says it was the virus and not him. The virus comes out and turns out to be a technological version of Starro. The Atom fights off the virus and John kills himself so Ray isnt turned. The league sees John shut down and Ray explains he isn't coming back. Wally talks to Donna and they bond over the old Titans days. They kiss. Cyborg sees this and is glad some happiness can be found. Donna says they need to go back in time and stop all this and Wally says they'd need a cosmic treadmill. They go to the old star labs facility and Damian and Victor agree to stop them. Ray and Clark study the information gathered from John and his connection to Metron. They move out to stop the production of Brainiac droids with Lobo and the good, Robo-Lobo.

Donna is angry, as Victor thought she would try to kill Damian. Cyborg explains he knows people are ready to do anything if they think it's right. He was tortured for 15 years by someone like that. Donna uses her full training to apprehend Cyborg. She uses a chip, studying the brood network to turn him into a droid. Wally asks Hank what he should do, and he ends up saving Cyborg. Superman tips apart the droids and Ray enlarges their ships and weapons to crush them. Lobo and Robo-Lobo ride their bikes through them. Metron speeds up the factory and realises it's about to over-heat. He stops production, Lobo and Robo-Lobo take this opportunity to explode the factory and let everyone escape, dying in the process. Donna runs for velocity-9 and Damian goes after her. They fight on the roof-top and they realise it's to late. The cosmic treadmill rips a hole in reality and Damian chases Donna in. They fight in the time-stream and end up in Argo-city. Hank runs Wally into the portal and Cyborg watches it all. He realises Wally has Hank in his brain. 2020.10.30 07:26 bhavbhav [Character of the Month] Beast Boy
Arnold Drake and Bob Brown First Appearance: The Doom Patrol
v1 #99 Affiliated Organizations:
Doom Patrol, Teen Titans, Titans, Titans West Friends/Allies:
Raven, Cyborg, Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Starfire, Wally West, Lilith, Hank Hall, Don Hall, Holly Granger, Bette Kane, Connor Kent, Tim Drake, Cassandra Sandsmark, Bart Allen, Damian Wayne, Wallace West Strengths/Abilities:
Shapeshifting into any animal It’s not easy being green, but Beast Boy sure makes it look that way! A mainstay of the Teen Titans, a friend to many of the second generation of heroes, and a mentor to many of the third, our viridescent warrior is as complex as he is optimistic, funny, and resilient. While he is often a source of humour, Garfield Logan’s (nearly) effortless navigation of life, love, and combat camouflages the truly fearsome opponent he can be.
Origin Despite his often lighthearted constitution, Garfield’s origins are anything but.
Born to biologists Mark and Marie Logan, Garfield was often exposed to strange, and certainly not child-proof, environments as a side effect of his parents’ research. After contracting the rare and terminal disease, Sakutia, as a young child, Garfield was subjected to a variety of experimental treatments in order to save his life, one of which involved his being turned into a West African monkey for twenty-four hours. While these experiments were clearly a success, they left Garfield’s skin, hair, and eyes with a rich green pigment, giving him the signature look he is known for today; he also developed the permanent ability to shapeshift into any animal of his choosing – be it small and cute or large and terrifying.
Unfortunately, further tragedy was in store for Garfield, as his parents later passed away in a boating accident. Abroad and alone in the tropical location his parents had been conducting their research, an orphaned Garfield was betrayed by many of the remaining adults in his life, either seeking to use his powers with criminal intent, to exact revenge on his parents, or to steal the estate left to him.
Doom Patrol Garfield’s introduction to Doom Patrol changed the course of his life entirely, after Doom Patrol members Elasti-Girl and Mento saved Garfield from an assassination attempt by his legal guardian, Nicholas Galtry. Elasti-Girl and Mento ultimately adopted Garfield and, after some time, allowed him to become a full-time member of the patrol under the moniker, Beast Boy.
Teen Titans Garfield’s membership in the Titans is his claim to fame and where he has had his brightest moments as a fighter, a teammate, a mentor, and a friend.
New Teen Titans
Following the brutal killing of the Doom Patrol and his short stint as an actor, Garfield spent some time on the Teen Titans West team spearheaded by Omen, though he later joined The New Teen Titans under his new alias, Changeling.
Garfield was lively and approachable, so it's no surprise that he found his place on the team rather easily. Eventually nicknamed 'Gar', he quickly developed mutually deep friendships and genuine, familial bonds with the rest of the Titans: Robin, Dick Grayson; Cyborg, Victor Stone; Kid Flash, Wally West; Wonder Girl, Donna Troy; Starfire, Kori’andr; and Raven. His friendship with Cyborg was especially strong, and they often found themselves feeding off each other’s energies.
Gar’s tenure on the New Teen Titans was marked by many triumphs and moments of playfulness, but also by quite a few heartbreaks: Gar’s adoptive father, Mento, returned in an antagonistic capacity, wildly unleashing his powers; and Gar’s first deep love turned into something treacherous and frightening.
Having previously been denied membership to the original Teen Titans, and now barely the qualification age, Gar was the youngest and most impressionable member of the New Teen Titans. When the team welcomed an equally young female hero, Terra, whose power involved controlling the earth, Gar found himself falling head over heels for her wit and charm (one could say... she rocked his world). It was revealed ultimately that Terra was a spy working for the group’s nemesis, Deathstroke, and her betrayal hit him hardest when her true motivations came to light. In the end, it was his attempt to distract her while she was rampaging that resulted in her demise; after Gar shape-shifted into a fly and flew into her eye, a crazed Terra brought the entire H.I.V.E. complex down upon herself while attempting to destroy the Titans.
Gar, adrift and wanting to revitalize his acting career, returned to Los Angeles, where he crashed on his cousin Matthew's couch while searching for work and living a relatively Hollywood life. Despite his charisma and talent, he was unable to find sufficient employment. After being convinced to create a new team by Matthew, he, along with Herald, Bumblebee, Hero Cruz, Terra II, Flamebird, and Captain Marvel Jr. founded the new Titans West, redubbed Titans L.A.
The team was unfortunately not meant to endure. Gar, not enticed enough by the SoCal sun and his celebrity lifestyle to stick around, returned to the East Coast, after which Titans L.A. dissolved due to lack of commitment on the parts of the other members.
Following this Gar, reconsidered an offer that had previously been made to him by the Titans, but that was for naught as well. Donna Troy was killed by a rogue robotic Superman; after her death, both the Titans and the Young Justice teams disbanded, their members traumatized over the event.
Teen Titans as a Mentor
Beast Boy, Starfire, Cyborg, with renewed hope, decided to start a new team consisting of the former members of Young Justice: Robin, Tim Drake; Superboy, Connor Kent; Kid Flash, Bart Allen; and Wonder Girl, Cassandra Sandsmark.
While Gar dedicated a substantial amount of this time to mentoring the new generation of Titans, he also spent a considerable amount developing a complicated and sometimes tumultuous relationship with Raven (who had returned in a super weird way).
Though it appeared at first that Gar and Raven resumed their friendship platonically, it quickly became apparent that they cared for each other rather deeply. However, nothing in love comes easily to Titans; several massive blows to their burgeoning relationship, the majority of which were caused by Raven's lack of transparency or by Trigon's machinations, made it hard for them to see a functional future for them as a couple. They eventually reconciled, Raven's vulnerability and commitment to humanizing herself drawing Gar back to her.
The New 52 Beast Boy flirted with being red but found that it was not his colour, so he went back to a more familiar look.
Like many other characters who survived Flashpoint, Beast Boy's background changed quite significantly. In the New 52 continuity, Beast Boy's journey starts in a team called The Ravagers — a group of super-powered teens who have escaped the plans of Harvest in the Culling. The team was formed after the Teen Titans and the Legionnaires stuck in the present day were abducted by Harvest, and then later stopped the villain and escaped. The team includes Beast Boy, Terra, with whom Gar develops a deep relationship, Ridge, Thunder and Lightning, and Fairchild.
Rebirth Post-Rebirth, Garfield, once again, found himself mentoring the Teen Titans, but later joined Nightwing’s newly re-formed Titans team alongside Nightwing, Donna, Raven, and Steel (Natasha Irons).
Now that we're mid-crisis, who knows what will happen next for our fuzzy hero? Here's to hoping that he'll come out the other side greener than ever!

2020.10.26 10:22 Doombawkz Giganta - Insight and Discussion
Hello friends! I like my ladies tall, and they don't get taller than Giganta! This behemoth babe has been around for some time now, and it's high time we talked about her most recent rework! Do keep in mind that this is assuming at least lv70 g11 for most insights, so the numbers may be more or less depending on where you stand in the game.
----------------- Basic Info -----------------
- Giganta is a physical villain who focuses on obstructing the enemy team, buying valuable time for her team to set up an offensive!
- Giganta is a very slow character, pacing along at 97 speed. While this does give her ample time to stay taunting, it also acts as a weakness as it gives more time to purge her.
- Giganta utilizes personal buffs, awareness, and taunting while also providing some auxiliary buffing for low health allies. Her damage is not particularly high, but true damage supplements her output once her gate is reached.
- Giganta is not farmable by traditional means, and is primarily available through sales, PvP, and some PvE events when applicable.
So to begin, let's go ahead and tackle the main question here: Is Giganta a tank? The answer is a bit of yes and no, she is and isn't by traditional definitions. To clarify, she is a tank in terms of her actively becoming an obstacle for enemies, and having ways to increase her longevity and resistance to physical damage. However, by that note, she has a weakness to special damage and her ability to obstruct only goes so far as her ability to maintain buffs. As we will see below, her skills do lend themselves to task, but they create clear counterplay opportunities.
----------------- Abilities -----------------
You know, some people pay good money for this sort of thing. Giganta puts her foot down... literally! Stomping the ground, she sends a shockwave at the enemy, dealing a small amount of damage. If she's hit her growth spurt, she strikes with additional power, adding an extra 10% true damage to her attack! This can let her double down on awareness buff removal, and can let her tap even the most defensive characters for a set amount of damage. Overall, not a bad choice, though you don't need to prioritize it by any means as the true damage is built-in at 5% to start.
Base: Damage to an enemy, apply 5% true damage if Giganta has at least 5+ empowered or regular stamina ups.
Max: Damage to an enemy, apply 10% true damage if Giganta has at least 5+ empowered or regular stamina ups. (Base damage increased by 35%)
Legendary effect: 50% chance to use growth spurt if Giganta is under 30% health. This is handy for a number of reasons, not least of which is bringing her back from the brink. However, this is also a gate you aren't always likely to achieve without her dying first given the outputs in this game. I would save this for fourth, generally.
2nd power: Growth Spurt
Giganta is larger than life, in more ways than one! With a battle cry, she gains a monstrous amount of Empowered Stamina and Agility ups, coupled with affinity defense boosts! This is your main means of taking damage directly, and it makes you very sturdy against incoming physical damage with the added benefit of ignoring damage from blue characters completely. While this buff count does make her a target for Wonder Girl, it also allows Giganta to be a very reliable wall for her as well. Keep in mind that stamina acts as an artificial heal, and is not blocked by heal immunity. You'll gain (at maximum rings) an amount equal to your base health total, which will display as 50% of your healthbar returned.
Base: Gain 1 Empowered Agility up, 1 Empowered Stamina up, and 1 Affinity Resistance Ups (2T)
Max: Gain 5 Empowered Agility up, 5 Empowered Stamina up, and 5 Affinity Resistance Ups (2T)
Legendary Effect: If Giganta is taunting, increase the duration of buffs given by 1. Given her later parts of the kit, one might think this would come second, but it will actually be your third pick. While handy, her other two before it provide more direct utility and allow her to perform better overall in her intended role.
3rd Power: Titanic Smash
She's the Iceberg. Deals heavy damage to an enemy and gain awareness. This is her means of replenishing her ability to soak hits she can't resist with her 2nd ability buffs, and it's a very respectable opening move should you find yourself against troublesome greens. The damage, though not as high as some others, is still rather respectable overall, especially against blues. At higher Rebirth, this becomes a rather consistent way of removing threats like Wonder Girl outright.
Base: Heavy Damage to an enemy. Gain 2 Awareness.
Max: Heavy Damage to an enemy. Gain 3 Awareness. (Base damage increased by 30%)
Legendary Effect: Gain 4 Taunts. If already taunting, gain crit immunity. 4 Taunts means it's much more difficult to purge her out of your path, and if you're already taunting then you also gain crit immunity in addition to it, giving you even more bulk overall. This is her only real way to reapply taunt outside of a specific gate, so this will be your 1st pick up generally.
4th power: Look at me! (passive)
How you gonna hate from outside of the match? You can't even get in! Giganta shoves in the way of low health allies, drawing the enemy focus to herself. This effect can trigger for Giganta as well, meaning you can get surprising amounts of mileage out of her on low health. Since the buffs don't fall off like other similar effects, she will remain in the way after the first proc.
Base: 50% chance to gain 1 Empowered Stamina up and 1 taunt at the beginning of every enemy's turn if a teammate's HP is below 40%.
Max: 80% chance to gain 3 Empowered Stamina ups and 1 taunt at the beginning of every enemy's turn if a teammate's HP is below 40%
Legendary Effect: Also apply 3 Empowered Agility Ups to teammates with HP below 40%. This effect sounds better than it is, unfortunately Empowered Agility Ups don't impact damage mitigation all that much overall, and do nothing to stop special damage from coming in. In addition, as mentioned in the previous section, Wonder Girl is a persistent threat. As a result, lowering your buff output is generally favorable until you get your stats up. I'd get this last.
5th power: I'm the toughest! (passive)
You fight like puny Doris. Giganta toughest there is! Giganta responds to enemies attempting to improve their strength by improving her defensive values. This can help against characters who focus on physical damage alone, giving her a bit more padding against their strikes (though keep in mind agility does not scale 1-to-1 to strength). Not bad, makes her stronger in her role as a physical wall. Since this also works on allied strength gains, you can form a strategy around pumping her up while mounting your offense.
Base: 75% chance to gain 1 Empowered Agility up anytime anyone gains a Strength Up.
Max: 100% chance to gain 2 Empowered Agility up anything anyone gains a Strength Up.
Legendary Effect: Start the battle with 3 Awareness and Taunt. This is going to be your gamble between itself and Titanic Smash's legendary as your first pick up. Typically speaking, you'll get more long-term value from her 3, but this legendary will be more useful in shorter matches. Pick which one works best for you, and get the other 2nd. Not much need be said here, turn 0 taunts are always good and hers is particularly sturdy as the buff count prevents some purgers from removing her taunt.
----------------- Resource Allocation -----------------
Ring Priority: 2 (to max) - 3 (to +1 awareness) - 4 (to max) - 5 (to max) - 1 (to Max) - 3 (end)
Legendary Order: 5/3 - 2 - 1 - 5
Legendary Viability: L1 viable, L2 preferable, L4 optimal
Looking at these abilities, one can clearly see where he alliances lie: Characters who like body guards, who enjoy buffs, and who can trigger her effects with ease. If you have characters who need a turn of wind-up, Giganta is one of the better options for answering the call.
Likewise, her counters are rather obvious as well: Buff immunity, special damage greens, and mass-purge effects. If she can't maintain her buff chains then she loses a lot of viability and survivability.
The characters she counters are enemies who need immediate results to get rolling, physical characters who lack the purging ability to get around her buff ups, and softer blues who take higher damage from her high affinity multiplier.
----------------- Synergies -----------------
Lex Luthor (Survival Support Suit) -
Lex provides basically everything Giganta wants: Healing, speed ups, int buffs to curb the special damage aspect, purges, the works. In exchange, Giganta makes a strong plug-in to buy Lex and his team time to begin ramping out of control. Lex also counters many of the characters Giganta struggles with and vice versa, making them a strong pairing.
Donna Troy (The First Wonder Girl) -
Donna has some unique utility as a dual-taunter partner. They provide a good answer to single-target purge by giving a back-up layer, Donna provides some hard crowd-control effects that Giganta lacks, and the extra awareness is a welcome addition to Giganta's massive pile of resistance. Giganta herself has some unique qualities as well when paired with Donna, being able to cycle between her 2nd and 3rd abilities continuously to create a constantly taunting, buffing, and awareness stacking fortress. As Giganta is one of the only taunters who applies multiple stacks of the buff, she never has to worry about Donna removing her taunt by accident.
Azreal (The Avenging Angel) -
Azreal isn't a character you'd typically think of when considering Giganta teammates. Her awareness stacks would be a problem, one might assume, because it means fewer Azreal procs. However, it's rather the opposite, Giganta's awareness often quickly get expunged and her natural bulk makes for a good shield Azreal can proc off of. Azreal also often faces the issue of his tanks being purged of their taunts, and being focused down. This is a problem he doesn't really have with Giganta around. The loss of a few extra procs is quickly made up for by the consistency of him living long enough to get rolling. As most of his moves give strength ups, he is also a reliable engine for Giganta to gain empowered Agility from.
Arkkis Chummuck (Green Lantern of Sector 3014) -
Much like Azreal, Arkkis greatly benefits from having a body in the way to give him time to set up his duel and shields. With his entire kit giving strength buffs, he turns Giganta into the ultimate physical wall very quickly while being an absolute monster threat in the meantime behind her. Giganta also has some benefits with Arkkis's duel, being able to gain extra bulk if he gets focused down to the death immunity, and being able to slam a large Titanic Smash into his freshly taunted target. Arkkis is a character who must be removed immediately, and Giganta does a good job of preventing that.
Circe (Goddess of Witchcraft) -
Circe can turn a Giganta into a perpetual threat thanks to her revive, and Giganta in exchange becomes a consistent tank for Circe thanks to her passives. Upon reviving any ally, Giganta included, they're at the prime health level for Giganta's 4th ability passive to begin triggering. Likewise, Giganta's basic has a good chance of triggering her 2nd ability through the enrage, making her sturdier and letting her basic start applying that true damage. Circe also provides other utility like int down softening special damage targets Giganta would fear otherwise, and meter control helping Giganta overcome her slow speeds.
Green Lantern (Jon Stewart) -
Jon's entire kit is based around being below 50%, even after his rework. Giganta finds this to be just fine, gaining plenty of advantages while he's on the edge of death. Likewise, he passes some much-needed strength her way, and if she is low he can throw some long-lasting death immunity onto her to make her even harder to bring down and buying her time to get some clutch stomps into growth spurt, or to rack up additional awareness!
Kilowog (Green Lantern of Sector 674) -
Wog provides some crucial damage boosts along with debuff immunity (removing one of Giganta's biggest counter points), plenty of shields with more passively since Giganta will almost always be over 6 buffs, power when critically hit, good meter control, purging, the whole 9 yards. Giganta repays this favor by taking those empowered strength ups and slaughtering any blue who might be in her way. Wog also gets some good benefit from her taunting, not only giving him a reliable source of empowered strength ups from his own passive, but also ensuring he can continue to generate value from his shield passive.
St. Walker (Lantern of Hope) -
St. Walker has a myriad of benefits for Giganta, not least of which is giving her even more stats! An additional 20% stamina and agility helps to make her an even more impossible mountain to scale, and the additional intellect helps mitigate some special damage. He provides shields and strong purging effects to clear the way of retaliating greens, he has a full debuff purge with assist calls to help her trigger some stomp buffs, and like Wog he has some passive shielding as well. Giganta, in exchange, makes it difficult to kill Walker early, giving you a good chance of getting his massive damage increase when alone. She also helps to enable his favored teammates through her presence, tightening the composition as a whole.
----------------- Counters -----------------
Lex Luthor (Survival Support Suit) -
The premiere special green, Lex counters Giganta on almost every avenue: High damage, purging, debuff immunity, the ability to outheal her damage, the ability to accelerate far beyond her. That's not to say you can't bring her into a fight with him there, but he makes life hard for her.
Arkkis Chummuck (Green Lantern of Sector 3014) -
The big reason he counters her is the prospect of dueling before her first turn, shutting her down before she can get rolling. Be mindful, once she has crit immunity up from her 3, Arkkis won't kill her in a single duel (though he'll get darn close). This is a match-up played at the margins, every little bit of difference in either direction makes a world of difference between life and death.
Mr. Freeze (Heart of Ice) -
Outside of outscaling her output with his taunt buffs, he can very quickly remove her from the game entirely through his speed manipulation. There's not much she can do but rely on her allies to clear the way for her.
Huntress (The Zealous Crusader) -
Huntress can bypass your taunts to pick off low health allies you'd be protecting otherwise, making her a constant threat when AoE is on the table. Her damage also isn't bad. While you can prevent some of it through your crit immunity, eventually she will have a point where she can pick apart your health with Big Hit base damage and choice shots.
Wonder Girl (Champion of War) -
Wonder Girl doesn't per se counter Giganta herself, but rather gains benefits by Giganta enabling her kit. She's not sturdy enough to survive being stomped on a time or two, but you have to consider your allies being whipped in the meantime. Outside of that, she's handled rather well by Giganta provided you can get in on her.
The Flash (Fastest Man Alive) -
Flash cares not for your Awareness, and his speed means he can quickly ramp to One Speed and proceed to devour you before you have a chance to move. You can't do much to stop him from pummeling you outside of having an ally cripple him first.
Sinestro (Yellow Lantern) -
Aside from having a massive int drop and locking you out of your better moves via enrage, his basic can rip your awareness and taunts off at the drop of a hat. His bone saws also provides a good answer for your main team mates (since most apply shields en masse). I'd avoid him if you don't have a way to delete him immediately.
Larfleeze (Agent Orange) -
He can rip all of the buffs from your body, slap you for big special damage, and scales as his allies pick at your team around your block. Be ready to rebuild your stacks after he does his mass purge, proper buff management is key here.
----------------- Countered by Giganta -----------------
Deadshot (Hired Gun) -
Deadshot's value is very front-loaded into his turn 1 power. This makes Giganta's awareness a strong deterrent to prevent most of this damage from coming through to softer targets. With her stomp refreshing the effect plus granting her crit immunity, Deadshot is unlikely to budge her before revealing himself.
Black Adam (Khem-Adam) -
While Black Adam can poke around your taunt with his AoE, you can prevent him from killing anyone he doesn't manage to kill off the bat by soaking his punches. Even his purge isn't effective due to your taunt stacks, and he can deal 0 damage to you, letting you refresh and tap him out. Provided you can survive his initial burst strike, he becomes dead weight quickly.
Wonder Girl (Champion of War) -
As mentioned before, she doesn't counter you so much as she whips at your team, but this can be circumvented by having one character be buff-less, greatly reducing her damage potential. Outside of that whip, she has nothing that threatens you, and her strength ups only serve to make you more sturdy. A stomp or two and she's dust.
Atrocitus (The First Red Lantern) -
Much like HG Deadshot, a lot of his power is within the burst from his 3, however this is often easy to weather with Giganta's awareness stacks. Just bring someone to push his turn down or yours up and watch as he flounders and you chew up his team mates attacks.
Alan Scott (Keeper of the Starheart) -
Alan Scott gets a lot of his value from his big retaliations and shielding capability. Unfortunately for him, with your affinity defense his attacks do nothing to you, and you can easily scale to untouchable status with awareness and staminas before he can hope to do anything to you. With no way to get around your taunt without team assistance, he's left laying feeble strikes on your abs.
Batgirl (#BatgirlOfBurnside) -
Giganta counters Batgirl in a way similar to Deadshot and Atrocitus, by stalling out her early power-spike capabilities. You can rest easy knowing Giganta will prevent 90% of the damage that team can hope to deal, and her buff refreshes will keep Batgirl from taking her taunts away. Once her evasion clock runs out, she's nothing more than just another victim. Stomp her back to the Oracle days.
----------------- Team Compositions -----------------
Massive Mommy Energy - Utilize this all-female composition to dominate your enemies, and leave them begging for that sweet release... of death, of course.
- Hippolayta (Leader)
- Miss Martian
- Wonder Girl
The strong get stronger! - Buy powerhouse allies precious time to prepare their onslaught, all the while increasing your physical resistances!
- St. Walker (Leader)
- Arkkis Chummuck
Gigantic Assets - Utilize a cooldown focused team to enrich yourself with multiple high-impact turns, creating a wall of immunity
- SSS Lex Luthor (Leader)
- Donna Troy
Knock, knock, knocking on Nekron's door - Use a reckless composition, often sitting at death's door, but finding massive power in desperation!
- Sinestro (White Lantern) (Leader)
- Beast Boy
- Jon Stewart (Green Lantern)
From the shoulders of giants - Utilize true-sight from a high vantage point and reliable defense to target and destroy select targets, crippling the enemy team's offensive capabilities!
- Batman (World's Greatest Detective) (Leader)
Reduce, reuse, recycle - Combine constant revivals with newly reworked abilities to gain maximum value!
- Martian Manhunter (Leader)
- Star Sapphire
Blackest Night (For DaBoy's wallet) - Utilize new characters to make the most of new abilities and strategies, surprising your opponent with unknown combinations!
- Sintestro (White Lantern) (Leader)
- Black Hand
There you have it! Now then, is Giganta worth getting? She's a very solid red tank, probably the best all-around anti-physical damage tank there is. However, she is countered currently by the most prominent forces in the meta without much recourse to answer with. You can level and gear her, but her skills take some commitment and investment to get the most out of. You can create compositions which make her shine brilliantly, but she's never going to be the strongest in the comp typically.
I would say get her if you're a fan of her character, or if you have... peculiar tastes and are a man or lady of culture. If you need a red tank and she's available to get without too much forward investment, then I say certainly. She's worth having, she just isn't per se worth buying into unless you are committed to it. She's viable, she's very usable, but I'd be lying if I said my usage and investment is nothing short of nepotism at this point. She's not for everyone, but she's a character you can slot into any team and do fine with since her kit is mostly self-contained.
Are there better tanks? For certain situations, sure, and against certain characters definitely, but overall she's up there with the most generally useful of them for buying time. Don't expect her to sweep any teams, but you can definitely expect her to pick apart some blues and soak a lot of hits. Cater to her, and you'll go far for sure.
Tune in next time when we go over the new Star Sapphire rework. Until then, farewell.

2020.10.24 21:30 Son-of-the-Dragon Explaining why it was a good choice to take Arsenal off the Team
So I know a lot of people were unhappy about it when Arsenal was taken off the Team by Nightwing in S2. But all things considered, I think it was the right call. Now hear me out here.
First, I'll list all the pros for Roy.
- Arsenal's behavior is perfectly understandable. That's to be expected after all he's been through. He had been frozen for eight years, and he just awoke to find out that his surrogate father and basically the entire world had gone on without him. Not to mention the fact that he was also mutilated.
- I like Roy. I love all the legacy heroes and that is the exact reason why I like Young Justice so much. Arsenal is pretty high on my list of favorites, and he's a pretty well-rounded badass.
- He never meant to hurt anyone directly. His actions were reckless, though he never did it with any malice towards his teammates and it was never his primary goal that any of them get hurt.
- Obvious PTSD. Wouldn't we all have it? The thought of going back in a pod would set anyone off if they had been through what he had.
- Roy is genuinely a good person. We can see that just by the fact that he was so willing to accept the fact that he had a clone and basically treated them like brothers in S3.
- I'm glad Roy is rejoining the Team in S4. He's clearly doing better and has no issues working with Nightwing. I tell you right now though, if we don't get another Bowhunter Security episode in S4 I will not be happy. 🤣 That episode had me ROTFL.
Now, let me tell you why despite these things that Roy has going for him, it was still a good move to take him off the Team.
- Even though his actions are understandable, that doesn't mean they should be allowed to go on. Really it comes down to a matter of which matters more. Roy's wellbeing, or the entire Team's. He did put them in danger, intentionally or otherwise, at least twice. Both when he alerted Black Beetle to their presence on a covert mission, which ultimately lead to Green Beetle infiltrating the Team, and when he blew out the airlock which lead to most of the Team being captured.
- Roy is a vengeance seeker. I would have gone after Luther too, but the taboo that all heroes have to live by is that they will never take a life no matter how much someone might deserve it.
- Being on the Team wouldn't do him any good. It's clear to everyone involved that Roy is traumatized. But being on a Team that would constantly deploy him on dangerous missions is not the place to overcome that trauma. Realistically, taking him off the Team was as much for his own good as it was everyone else's.
- Roy is a stranger to them. Based on how he and Nightwing interacted, it kind of seemed like Arsenal was placed on the Team through Ollie or the League as a whole, and the Team did not get a say in it. Ollie and Dinah were his support system and he was their responsibility as she was a shrink and Ollie was his father. Instead of working through things with him, it kind of seemed like they just dumped him on the Team and made this kid with PTSD that none of them had ever met before their problem. The result of bad writing and characterization IMO.
This next part is just a comparative piece to consider.
In the 2003 comic Outsiders, a new team was formed following the disbanding of the original Titans and Nightwing was set as their leader. Unfortunately, this could not have happened for him at a worse time. While leading the Outsiders, a very brutal arc took place simultaneously in his own comic. The villain Blockbuster found out his identity, and used it to ruin Dick Grayson's life. His apartment building was destroyed with all his neighbors and friends inside. Haly's Circus, his childhood home, was set on fire and he was not able to save everyone. His captain found out that he was Nightwing and fired him from the police department. Barbara broke up with him. He was raped by Tarantula. And finally, all this takes place immediately after Donna Troy, one of Dick's best friends in the world, sacrificed her life to save him, leading to even more guilt on his part.
All of this lead to Nightwing making terrible mistakes as leader of the Outsiders which nearly cost the members of the team their lives. It got to the point that they collectively had to have Nightwing step down as leader, and he left the team not long after. Roughly one year later, Nightwing had his life back on track and Arsenal invited him back to lead the now covert Outsiders.
This is very similar with what happened to Roy.
Do both parties get sympathy for everything they've been through? Of course.
Are they're mistakes understandable considering all the trauma they went through? Absolutely.
Should these mistakes be allowed to continue, no matter how justifiable they are? No, they shouldn't.
As heroes, everything they do when they put on their masks decides whether or not people live or people die. And you can't always wait patiently for them to work everything out. Sometimes, you need to put your foot down and tell them that until they've sorted out their demons, they have no place making those types of life or death calls.

2020.10.15 18:17 FrostFireFive New Titans #1 - The Hunt Begins
New Titans #1: The Hunt Begins
Book: New Titans
Arc: Titans Hunt
Donna Troy sat alone in her apartment with a cup of coffee in her hand, pen in the other. She was taking notes on a series of prints in front of her. Marking a pros and cons list on a yellow legal pad. The photo to the left was one of the last phone booths on the Upper West Side. The focus was on the booth as the blurry people passed by. The phone booth, an archaic relic of a different time for the city. Donna could relate.
It had been three years since Coast City, her arm still aches on cold days from where Henshaw had broken it. When the dust cleared from the destruction and death; it was obvious that the Titans and her life as a superhero were over. Diana had helped her set up in New York, and for a while, Garth lived with her as well. Just two friends dealing with the fact their world ended. It was even Garth who gave her her first camera, a crappy Polaroid Instamatic camera.
She had taken to it like a fish to water. Some of her first shots were tucked cozily in between her dresser and mirror. They included the pigeon that made its home on her fire escape, Garth slurping down a bowl of Ramen, a self-portrait of herself. That one became the first print she ever sold. Something about how haunted the subject looked in the eyes had won the seller over.
After that, Donna began doing what all good photographers should do: take photos. It allowed her to know the city better; to leave the apartment and escape her troubles. It took her mind off the fact it had been over a year since Garth left to be king. She understood the duty that came with the crown, but she still missed her friend. BZZZT
Next to the print, Donna’s phone buzzed. Quickly, she picked it up and looked at who could be texting her at 12:30 am. Hey Donna, the gallery’s opening tomorrow at nine PM, not AM, right?
Donna sighed, what was she going to do about Dick Grayson? Besides Garth, Dick was the only other Titan Donna had talked to. It just started with a text out of the blue one day. Donna didn’t know how he got her number, but she wasn’t going to turn down someone from her past. Yes. Semi-Formal, so you probably can’t wear your work clothes. But I look good in blue and black.
Donna sighed, before rolling her eyes, it had been ages since she had seen him. And having at least one friend at her first gallery would be nice. She understood that Garth had other duties to attend to, but Dick seemed to be only doing his job. Turning on the news Nightwing was always kinda there when the League did something. And the late-night texts showed someone who wasn’t exactly getting his eight hours of sleep. Sure you do, but I don’t exactly want your work to get into mine… Fine. I’ll try and be there after wrapping up this Star City thing
She smiled before putting the phone down and moving to go to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a long day. CRASH
A can of tear gas broke through the apartment’s window and began filling the rooms with smoke. More windows broke as armored soldiers rappelled through the window. Their red plated armor contrasting against black bodysuits. Their helmets, however, had stylized tusks around their mouth and bulbous lenses covering their face.
As Donna dashed into her bedroom to avoid the smoke and the goons around her she could only hear their electronic voices coming through their helmets.
“Wildebeest command, we’ve breached the target's location. Starting perimeter sweep for target.”
Quickly Donna charged out, flinging a punch at one of the Wildebeest soldiers sending him flying across the apartment into her small kitchen, denting her fridge. She turned to face the other three soldiers in front of her and paused for a minute before finally speaking.
“I don’t know who you are,” she said. “But get the hell out of my home.”
The soldiers pointed their pulse rifles at the Amazon. The hum of the gun filled the room before shooting at her. The red energy broke through the drywall and sent debris everywhere. Donna quickly dodged the blast and punched one of the soldiers directly in the chest. As her fist connected with him, he was sent flying outside of the building. The remaining two soldiers reacted by focusing their fire on her.
To duck from the blasts, Donna slid towards one of the soldiers, tripping them towards the ground. As she got up to face the next one, a blast hit her in the shoulder and sent her flying back into her room.
“AHH,” she cried out before looking at the hole in her t-shirt’s shoulder, her skin red from the blast. More soldiers continued to make their way into her apartment from the outside. Her brow furrowed as she braced herself from the pain. She was rusty and knew it, when she was Fury these soldiers wouldn’t stand a chance, but plain Donna Troy couldn’t keep fighting these guys forever.
Quickly she grabbed a box from her closet and stuffed it in a backpack, threw on her black combat boots and leather jacket. Fighting all of them would be suicide, she needed to escape, find help, and figure out why someone would want her after all these years. Donna took a deep breath before charging back out to the soldiers. She dodged their blasts before leaping through the hole they had left in her apartment, charging into the New York night.
She ran for a good twenty minutes at a full sprint before finally slowing down, out of breath as she slumped to the sidewalk, realizing that she was safe. Donna took a minute before catching her breath. She glanced at the TV in the nearby bar to see that the police had arrived at her apartment. It should have been quiet, their target was gone. Except Donna saw yellow energy being flung at the soldiers by a star-spangled girl. The chevron read Stargirl Confronts Enemy Force.
Donna sighed, someone needed her help more tonight.
“So what exactly is the stuff?” A man in a crisp suit said as he crowbarred one of several crates open.
“The boss is gearing up,” another man said as he moved the hay away from the items in the grate. Several energy rifles and EMP grenades were inside, the metal crate with the words HIVE on the side had delivered. “He’s getting ready to finally go big. Soon Star City will be ours.”
“Damn straight,” the first man said, picking up one of the rifles. “‘Bout time Brick starts taking back what he lost from those freaks. Boss is gearing up for war. Nothing’s going to stop…” THWACK
An escrima stick had struck the goon in the head as a figure in black and blue dropped from the catwalk above. Quickly, Nightwing made quick work of the other goon, throwing the second stick at him before flipping towards him and slamming him to the ground. Quickly knocking them both out.
“Let’s see what we got here,” Nightwing thought as he looked inside the crates. “Well looks like that tip was right, Brick’s gearing up for a war. He shouldn’t be able to get tech like this at all. This HIVE case keeps getting weirder and weirder.”
Nightwing had been following leads on a new tech group that had been making waves as tech sellers. For the most part, it had been jet setting and investigating staging sites and tracking where the flow of weapons was coming from. A lot of long nights were spent constantly on the move. Dick Grayson hadn’t had a home in a long time.
As he began looking further into the other crates around him, Dick noticed the Superman clock on the wall: 8:30 pm.
“Shit, I forgot to text Donna,” he thought before pulling his phone out from his pouch pocket. “Hopefully, she’s still up.”
Dick didn’t keep in touch with any of the former Titans but Donna. Part of him felt like he had cursed their lives already. But Donna had been there for Dick when he needed her. She had helped him form the Titans from the rubble of the Teen Titans, she was his friend and he couldn’t turn his back on her. He hadn’t seen her in a year, but they had kept in touch. Dick didn’t exactly have a life outside of the mask. It was better this way, the circus kid inside of him didn’t need roots somewhere where he could hurt people.
Quickly he got the confirmation from Donna, as he paced around the crate, the two goons zip tied to a pole.
“Well at least it’s not in the morning,” he thought. “Glad to see that she’s moved on, Donna always was too good for this life. Should probably pick up the early copy she sent me of her art book.”
As he finished texting Donna, Nightwing prepared to leave the warehouse, he had already left a tip for the police, and looking at the guards it was obvious they weren’t going anywhere. Still...it felt too easy that there were only two of them guarding all of this. It was almost as if someone wanted him here… CRASH
Glass rained down from above as six armored soldiers fell from the roof. Their red plated armor well protected them as they aimed their energy rifles at Nightwing. He stared at them for a moment before one of the larger soldiers spoke.
“We have the target in sight command,” the soldier said. “Preparing capture and return to base, have a cell ready.”
“Who the hell are you guys?” Nightwing said, realizing that these weren’t the simple street thugs he had expected.
“We’re the Wildebeest Society, and we have orders, stand down and come with us and no one has to get hurt.”
“Seems like someone’s going to get hurt,” Nightwing gestured towards their guns. “Besides you guys don’t exactly look like the lets talk this out type of guys.”
“No, we really aren’t. Stand down and come with us. Or else.”
“I think I’ll choose or else,” Nightwing said before throwing a smoke pellet to the ground and repelling to the catwalk above.
The soldiers blasted quickly, the rate of energy blast denting and shattering the metal crates everywhere as the soldiers fired rapidly into nothing. After a few minutes however the shooting stopped, and among the grey smoke, red eyes glowed before looking up at the catwalk.
“Shit,” Nightwing thought as he realized these weren’t your trigger happy soldiers either. As the soldiers fired at the walkway Nightwing quickly glanced around his surroundings to look for cover. He needed time to plan, to focus on how the hell he was going to get out of this mess.
Soon the energy bolts burst through the catwalk, sending metal shrapnel everywhere as Nightwing dived off the platform.
“Oof,” he muttered as he landed on his shoulder among the sea of metal crates laid out in the warehouse. He took cover before glancing again at the soldiers, two APCs had burst through the warehouse’s garage doors. He was surrounded, with no back up by an enemy force. “Some mess you got yourself into this time Grayson.”
“Nightwing,” one of the Wildebeests called out. “Come with us and you won’t be hurt.”
“And what happens if I don’t come with you,” Nightwing called out.
“Then you’ll be hurt,” the guard said matter of factly before firing among the crates.
Nightwing took a deep breath, he was outgunned, outnumbered, and alone. The only choice was to surrender and fight another day. Before he could do that, however, a sound could be heard whizzing by as an arrow landed in front of the soldiers. BOOM!
The small explosion sent the soldiers flying as Nightwing turned around to see a man in a burgundy suit with yellow accents on the side. His red sunglasses hid his eyes, as he pulled another arrow from his quiver and fired again at the soldiers, grinning as he fought back.
“Who the hell are you?” Nightwing said.
“What you never heard of Arsenal before?” the figure laughed. “I figured I’d get a thanks, or a gee willikers from a Leaguer like you.”
“I don’t think anyone’s said that in a century,” Nightwing responded before looking at the dazed soldiers, seeing an opening to escape. “What are you even doing here anyway?”
“Not important right now,” Arsenal said as he nocked another arrow. “What is, is that we get the hell out of here. Or do you want me to haul your corpse back to Batman because you decided to think too long about running?”
“Good point,” Nightwing said before leaping over a few crates. “Regroup over on the Sherwood building, I have a feeling they’re going to be chasing after the both of us now.”
“Great, just how I wanted to spend my Saturday night,” Arsenal mumbled.
A man in a sharply dressed suit sat alone next to a hospital bed. It had been a busy day, his men had finally made their way to the larger targets, but he could have cared less as he stared at the figure in front of him. Her skin was pale, her red hair overgrown, her breathing slow as the machines next to her kept her alive. This was no way for a teenager to live, and it was their fault.
Soon the sliding door opened as a Wildebeest soldier entered the room.
“Sir...we may have a situation,” the soldier said. “Some of the targets are proving harder to capture. The Titan known as Fury has escaped and Nightwing is receiving help from the Star City kid, Arsenal.”
“Unfortunate," the man responded. "Are the hybrids ready for deployment, they could speed things up a bit.”
“No sir, they are not,” the soldier said before looking down at his tablet device. “The good news is that the heroine Stargirl is soon to be captured as well, so it’s not a total loss tonight sir.”
“They know of us now, so don’t say it’s not a loss. Get RnD to speed up the hybrids, and hunt down Fury, Nightwing, and now Arsenal. We’re close.”
“Understood sir,” the soldier responded. “I apologize for disturbing you. I know how important she is to you, sir.”
“It’s fine,” the man said amidst an awkward silence. “You’re dismissed.”
The soldier quickly left as the man was alone with his daughter. He gently stroked her hair and looked lovingly in her eyes before finally speaking.
“I promise, the Titans and all those teen heroes will pay for what they’ve done to you...Lilith” NEXT: Be here in 30 as Titans Hunt continues with Donna Troy helping out a new friend, as Nightwing and Arsenal butt heads on the run. All while the Wildebeests unleash a new monster unlike anything you’ve seen before.

2020.10.08 02:13 Zaysairpod59 Wonder Woman and Troia Origin revamp
So which origin sounds better?
Diana being formed from Gaia’s clay, infused with Hippolyta’s blood, and given life by Hera(and abilities from the gods).
Donna Troy being made by Circe as the perfect amazon with no emotion and a heart of darkness to wreak havoc in Themyscira, and getting caught trying to burn the royal palace and getting adopted by the royal family so she can learn the error of her ways. Or...
4.Diana being the secret daughter of Hippolyta and Ares, growing up hating Ares before learning about him being her father.
Donna being an orphan brought to Themyscira by the Titaness Rhea after the other Titans of Myth refused to let a mortal baby live amongst them?
In this story Cassie Sandsmark will be the daughter of Zeus(which is why im not leaving that option open for Diana), and will be Ares’ champion of war. And i changed her lasso as well(because Ares can’t control lightning and him giving cassie a lasso that controls lightning didn’t make sense to me). In this world, her lasso will be red, and has the ability to morph into any Greek weapon she chooses(swords,spears,etc.). She will have electrokinesis tho. Whenever shes angry, her hands will summon lightning that she can blast.

2020.10.04 18:34 Orfan_Crippl3r Wonder Girl should be an unlockable costume/alternate personality for Wonder Woman in Injustice 3
Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) is awesome, and she basically has all the powers of Wonder Woman. In addition to being Diana's adopted sister, Donna was also a mainstay of the original and new Teen Titans. She's one of my favorite D.C. characters, so I'd love to see her as an alternate costume/personality (like how Supergirl can be Power Girl or Flash can be Reverse Flash). While we're on the subject of alternate costumes, it would also be nice to see the other Robins as alternate costumes for the Damien Robin.

2020.10.01 10:52 pzzaco The one thing I hated about Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
They literally introduced new characters just to kill them off. I'm mostly talking about the Teen Titans here. This movie was the first appearance of black Kid Flash and the second debut of Donna Troy and Bumblebee. And... They died within 15 minutes of the movie. They didn't even have a single action scene before their corpses were cold on the ground.
But loved the movie anyways, just real disrespect for those characters.

2020.09.30 18:00 MrZubaz Team Affiliations (Complete Updated List for October 2020)
I debuted the following compiled list when a hero challenge listed that it would allow for "Titans Only." I updated the list when Beast Boy received a re-work and has one of his skills dependent on the Team Affiliation of others. Others now have similar skills, including a new one this month. Since then, I’ve resolved to update the list more or less monthly, with a re-post every six months after the original is archived, so here we are.
Going to any hero's profile includes a link to their "Bio," which not only gives a backstory for the character, but also what will be listed here: Affiliations. Given the possibility of similar hero challenges and new affiliation-based skills going forward, it seemed worth it to have a running list in the community.
Community members have already raised issues about how seemingly obvious heroes that have been affiliated with the Titans or Teen Titans in various media do not have the appropriate designation. You’ll see how the Affiliations listed below are even more problematic. Again - I did not create these! I know they're not accurate with the lore! Save yourself the comment of asking why a character does or does not have a certain affiliation!
That said, the following lists all current affiliations in the game. First it is listed by Affiliation (in Alphabetical Order). I then provide the whole roster with their individual affiliations. I've now also added a running list of toons with skills that are dependent on Affiliation.
Warning: this list WILL infuriate you if you think about any of the glaring logical errors for more than like, a second. I have NO answer for "Why is X in Y affiliation but not Z?" I have NO answer for “Why did A get their own affiliation, but not B?” Etc. Etc.
If I made any errors (VERIFIED IN THE GAME, not according to lore, because there are millions of those), please let me know and I’ll happily edit. I will likely also need to edit for formatting.

Atom: The World’s Smallest Hero and Miss Martian: M’gann M’orzz join DC Legends! Along with them are October reworks
: Giganta: Colossal Criminal and Mr. Freeze: Heart of Ice.
ATOM: THE WORLD’S SMALLEST HERO
Working on shrinking technology based on a piece of White Dwarf Star matter, Ray Palmer managed to create a device that allowed him to shrink to an incredibly small size. Even if it started just as scientific research, Ray decided to use his new skills to fight crime and start a superhero career. His adventures have taken him from discovering a tiny alien civilization in the Amazon to being part of the Justice League, and even becoming part of the Indigo Tribe Lanterns.
Using his shrinking power, he assists his allies in microscopic level as well as punching like a bullet.
MISS MARTIAN: M’GANN M’ORZZ
Born on the planet Mars, M’gann M’orzz is a white martian that was sent away to earth by her parents to avoid the terrible events of the Martian civil war. On the Earth she adopts the appearance of a green martian, haunted by the fear that one day she could succumb to the violent conqueror values of white martian society, M’gann embarks on a heroic career as Miss Martian joining the Titans, where she finds her new and heroic family.
Miss Martian uses great intellect to accumulate power and uses her telepathic powers to help her allies by shielding them against his enemies.
GIGANTA: COLOSSAL CRIMINAL
Dying from a terminal illness, Dr. Doris Zuel tried an experimental procedure on herself. While saving herself, she quickly discovered she could now grow to be hundreds of feet tall in a matter of seconds, becoming stronger and tougher as she grew, but also losing her intellect. Embracing her powers and calling herself Giganta, she started a criminal career that would bring her face to face with Wonder Woman and other heroes.
Using her huge size as a distraction, Giganta absorbs enemy damage and shields teammates from harm.
MR. FREEZE: HEART OF ICE
When his wife Nora became terminally ill, Dr. Victor Fries devoted his life to finding a cure. With time running out, he decided to freeze her to buy more time for his research. His boss Ferris Boyle attacked him for stealing company equipment, causing Victor to be exposed to cryogenic chemicals, after which he could only survive in sub-zero temperatures. Wearing his cryo-suit and armed with a freeze gun, he became the criminal Mr. Freeze.
With his expertise in cryonics, Mr. Freeze can extend his own life and drastically slow down enemies.

2020.09.24 05:54 _drcomicbooknerd_ Nightwing: IN SPACE
I first saw this idea on a comment(either in this sub, or the DC sub), and I was intrigued by it.
The concept is simple. Have Nightwing go to space, and have him go through adventures there. Maybe with Starfire or someone else to help him navigate.
I feel like Nightwing shined best in the 80s(and also the 90s) when he wasn't part of the Bat-brand, and he was just "Nightwing, the leader of the Teen Titans". Afterwards, he became part of the Batlabel again, and he's just generic Robin #1. Obviously he's more complex than that, but writers can't seem to grasp that. Simply put: Dick Grayson doesn't shine when he's surrounded by the Batfamily.
So I was thinking, let's throw Nightwing back into his element, or better yet, a completely new one. I think it'd be really cool. Have him pilot a ship where he goes on adventures in space, making friends, enemies, and having an impact on the DC Universe.
It'd be really cool seeing him meet other Lanterns, maybe some bounty hunters, or even just other world's Superheroes.
Since they have different types of martial arts in space, he could probably train to get stronger there. There probably a ton of wild gadgets he could find to upgrade his arsenal too.
I think this could work especially well if he has a small team to lead. Maybe Starfire, Beast Boy, Kyle Rayner, and either Donna Troy or Supergirl.
Leave thoughts in the comments.

2020.09.19 21:45 MiracleAlien Batman and the Robins vs The Titans. Who can get either Dickbabs or DickFire to happen?
So there is a thing in DCcomics
where the community is divided into having a preferred ship "Dickbabs" (Nightwing and Barbara Gordon) or the hilariously named "DickFire" (Nightwing and Starfire). There are some smaller camps (DickCat, DickHunter, MidnightDick, the TV only Birds pair, Dickfacer ect), but these are the two big ones.
So I have brought it to you, the people.
Batman and the Robins as it turns out has been hardcore shipping Dick and Barbara, while the Titans always wanted him to get back together with Starfire.
They will do anything to get their way.
- Donna Troy
- Wally West
- Beast Boy
- Red Arrow
R1: They won't do any explicit manipulation barring like arranging situations for them to get together
R2: They will explicitly manipulate them to get them together
R3: They will straight up try to mind control them together

2020.09.19 15:57 djnevahwen Season 3 Theory: Jason Todd becoming Red Hood will be a direct result from the aftermath of Crisis On Infinite Earths
During the Titans DC Fandome panel, it was announced by Titans executive producer Greg Walker that Jason Todd will become the Red Hood in season 3, while it is exciting to see Jason become the Red Hood the question is, how will he become the Red Hood in season 3? Well i have a good idea on how this will happen and it's from a major event that shook the DC Universe to its core, Crisis On Infinite Earths!
(Spoilers from the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover follow):
In Part 1 of Crisis On Infinite Earths, it's revealed that Titans is set on Earth-9 in the live action DC Multiverse, as it showed Hank Hall and Jason Todd looking up at the Red Skies as the Anti-Matter wave consumed them as the Anti-Monitor destroys their world. In Part 5 of Crisis On Infinite Earths after Oliver Queen made the ultimate sacrifice in Part 4 as The Spectre, he rebooted the multiverse and when the new multiverse is shown Earth-9 is one of the restored Earths that Oliver Queen brought back. Now when they showed Earth-9 in Part 5, the crossover used archival footage from Season 2 possibly letting us the audience know that Season 2 takes place after the events of Crisis, that might not be the case because the actors said in various interviews that they weren't interested in filming new scenes for Crisis so they used unused footage from the original Season 1 finale and reedit it to make it part of the story of Crisis in Part 1 and use footage from Season 2 in Part 5 as a way to show us the audience that Earth-9 was restored when the multiverse was rebooted.
So now this is where the events of Season 3 come in and how Jason Todd becomes the Red Hood, since Season 3 is confirmed to be set in Gotham their might be an episode that focuses on Jason and how he transforms into the Red Hood, so this episode begins with Jason wherever he is and it's late at night and he falls a sleep and has a nightmare and this nightmare happens to be set on the night that Crisis occurred, as we see the Titans POV of the Crisis through Jason's eyes it all feels very real to him as if he thinks this really happened then when his nightmare ends with the scene shown in Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 1 with him and Hank being consumed by Anti-Matter something appears to him either it being Oliver Queen of Earth-Prime as The Spectre or an unknown figure coming to Jason and restore his Pre Crisis memories with the same tech that Cisco Ramon and Martian Manhunter of Earth-Prime created (as shown in the Arrow episode "Green Arrow and the Canneries") and when Jason wakes up from his nightmare he remembers everything including the night when Crisis occurred and that he already died (and this where Titans will put their own unique spin on how Jason becomes Red Hood as compared to the source material) so after experiencing this nightmare and having his Pre and Post Crisis memories restored it drives him mad as he sheds his Robin identity and becomes Red Hood and his first targets as Red Hood are his old teammates the Titans. So this is my theory on how Jason Todd becomes Red Hood in Season 3 and i also think Season 3 of Titans will kick off with things looking different than the past 2 seasons and that will all be a direct result from the events of Crisis On Infinite Earths and i think that characters who were killed off in the past 2 seasons like Donna Troy, Deathstroke, Garth and Jericho will be brought back from the dead as a direct result from the events of the Crisis.

2020.09.10 05:16 MiracleAlien Can Nightwing take down the Titans?
Dick Grayson has made it his life's mission to not be his fathementor Batman. As a result, he has never made any attempt to have any kind of contingency plans, secret monitoring devices or any other violations of privacy for an advantage.
Well fate's a dick and after an encounter with Psimon, the rest of the Titans have become evil and he has to take them down one by one.
He's got to do this on his own and can't go to any bat family member for help. He can use the cave as a resource though.
R1: Roy Harper
R2: Beast Boy
R5: Donna Troy
R6: Kid Flash
Bonus: Nightwing gets his adoptive Robin brothers to help out (Jason, Damian, Duke, and Tim)
Bonus 2: Nightwing gets the Batgirls help (Barbara, Cassandra and Stephanie)

2020.09.08 01:01 hypotheticalbattles New 52/ comics Starfire vs Beast Boy
Starfire is a Tamaranean and as such her physiology is designed to constantly absorb ultraviolet radiation. The radiation is then converted to pure energy, allowing her to fly at supersonic speeds. Originally, Starfire was capable of using this power to fly in space and even go fast enough to cross several solar systems in minutes to seconds. However, it is established in Red Hood and the Outlaws
#2 and #27 that C rebooted Starfire is unable to fly without the effects of gravity, leaving her unable to travel in space unaided. This energy also gives her incredible superhuman strength and durability. This strength, combined with her fighting skills, allowed her to defeat the powerful Donna Troy about two out of three times during purely hand to hand matches. She later proved strong enough to fight against Wonder Woman for a certain period of time and, during a fit of rage, was so strong that Donna Troy was unable to contain her without the help of Mon-El, in the 2003 TV series, she was strong enough to easily throw vehicles and destroy entire streets with her blows. After being experimented on by the alien Psions, Starfire gained the ability to release her absorbed energy into incredibly powerful blasts called "starbolts."
As shown in the "Insiders" crossover story arc (Teen Titans
and Outsiders), Starfire can also release nearly all of her stored energy as a powerful Omni-directional explosive burst, many times stronger and more powerful than her standard blasts. The released energy leaves her in a weakened state. She's also shown that she can consciously absorb ambient Ultraviolet and Solar Energy in order to weaken a Kryptonian's physical abilities. Starfire also demonstrated more control over her powers in the New 52 reboot, having used her internal energy to melt the metal of Jason Todd's gun when it came into contact with her skin. Starfire, and all Tamaraneans, are capable of assimilating languages through physical contact with another person. When Starfire attempts to do so with a male, she typically does so by kissing because it is "more fun" for her. Starfire is also proficient in hand-to-hand combat, having been trained by the Warlords of Okaara. She also doesn't need to eat, drink, sleep and doesn't require an atmosphere to breathe, though she has to if she is low on ultraviolet energy
Beast Boy has the ability to morph and transform into any
animal that he has seen himself or has seen in an illustration (as is the case when he shapeshifts into an animal such as an extinct dinosaur
or a funny animal
These transformations took only a second and Beast Boy has demonstrated that he is capable of rapidly changing his form with little or no effort expended. As a corollary to this power, he can transform back into his default form if an external force like magic transforms him into an animal. His power enables him to completely alter his body mass, being able to take the shape of animals far larger and heavier than himself, such as an elephant
, a hippopotamus
, or a Tyrannosaurus rex
(though until recent stories, such larger forms would physically exhaust him), or smaller and lighter animals such as mice
. As a result of his rapidly changing genetic structure and mass, Beast Boy has an increased healing factor comparable to that of the Creeper
) and Deathstroke
, allowing him to heal from bullet wounds, burns, and broken bones in a matter of seconds, and in some story lines regrow entire limbs. He cannot change or return to a form if the space he occupies is too small and he cannot normally break the confines (as seen when he attempts to transform into a Tyrannosaurus Rex underneath a bridge and hits his head, instantly aborting the transformation). His power also enables him to radically alter his body structure and take forms of animals without limbs, like snakes
, or those without skeletons like a jellyfish
. In two notable instances, he has even taken the form of multiple individuals simultaneously (once as a swarm of fireflies, and again as a mass of barnacles). In another comic he was seen to take on the form of what appeared to be a green version of Beast
) from X-Men.
Beast Boy's transformations have not been limited to Earth life forms. When on a rescue mission in the Vegan
system to free Starfire
), he easily transformed into a Gordanian, one of the green-skinned alien warriors native to the system, in order to sneak Robin and Cyborg onto a warship. In the "Who is Wonder Girl?" story arc
, he was able to infiltrate another alien world after being shown a green-skinned creature native to the planet; he had some difficulty with this change, claiming that Earth-animal forms he knew instinctively, but was successful in the transformation. When he pursued Madame Rouge
in revenge for her role in killing his foster mother, Rita Farr
, he began transforming into creatures that do not even exist, products of his subconscious rage against the villainess.
While an animal, he gains all of the physical abilities, attributes, and characteristics of said animal, such as greatly enhanced superhuman strength (a gorilla
), superhuman speed (a cheetah
), and enhanced durability (a turtle
), and abilities such as flight (various birds
), and aquatic breathing (various fish
). He can even gain the specific poisons and toxins produced by specific snakes
. He also gains the ability to survive or otherwise live in the same hostile environments some animals can, as seen in one comic where he morphs into a parasitic worm
to become resistant to the stomach acid and immune system of Brother Blood when he dived into the villain's intestinal tract to retrieve Raven's chakra. While in animal form, Beast Boy retains his human intellect, memories, and the ability to speak. No matter what form he takes, his skin, hair, and eyes remain green, making most of his animal forms easy to distinguish from real animals of that species. (In the DC-Marvel crossover with the X-Men, his attempt to infiltrate Darkseid's forces and stop him from recreating Dark Phoenix, was frustrated by the fact that Darkseid's minions are not green.) In the early comics, his coloration would change to that appropriate to the animal form he had taken, with only his head remaining green.
When Raven implanted Garfield with an evil seed of her father Trigon, he began to transform into more demon-like creatures. Eventually, he found himself more comfortable in these horrific shapes than as a human, and stayed shifted. After becoming completely corrupted by the evil seed, he was used by Raven and Trigon, but eventually returned to normal. Titans
#4 reveals that a small part of that seed still remains within him, which Trigon's sons manipulate, using the demonic energies to open the portal to Trigon's realm
I got Beast Boys information from Wikipedia and have looked over and studied.
So who wins?
Well Beast Boy is more durable when it comes to both of these 2 fighting, He can turn into so many creatures that are more durable then the next that Starfire would be having a hard time trying to take him down. Now dont get me wrong Beast Boy is better at durability but Starfire has the best strength. But remember we are not talking about the New 52 version and not the original Teen Titans one, she would win in a second. Beast Boy might can turn into many animals that can be strong, but Starfire is an alien princess that has been taught all the methods. Now another point that goes to Starfire is her speed. She has outclassed Beast boy many ties in speed and she is faster then a jet. Another point that goes to Starfire is her defense methods. With her shaping her starbolts she can blovk every attack he throws at her. Beast Boy have the better array of attacks too. Starfire might have eyeblasts, and starbolts out of her hands, but with the power to turn into any animal he chooses, he hae the best array of attacks at his disposal. Starfire has the best advatages in the skies though. She probably woudent want to fight hand to hand combat and Beast Boy woudent want to fight hand to hand combat but her advantages are her starbolts and her eyeblasts. Starfire has better hand to hand combat too and she has been taught that al of her life thanks to her longevity. Beast Boy is a stealth expertise and that could give him a good advantage if they were fighting hand to hand combat.
So in conclusion
As much as these 2 superheroes are related. Starfire would have the best factors in these.
- Hand to hand combat
- expert in the skies
- defense methods
- and strength.
Starfire has also been known to defeat all of her teen titan buddies except for Raven. Starfire is resistant to fire and cold temperatures and that gives her another advantage. Starfire wins because she outclasses Beast Boy in all of the factors and if she goes Nova, Beastboy would have to watch out for starfire. Starfire wins!

2020.09.03 10:07 stupidlysuper Teen Titans Tantrum. What I think is wrong and how it can be fixed.
First off, quick edit I am sorry for the wall of text. New to reddit and trying to format it to look better.
Some changes need making to Titans now we are getting a bit of a reboot. I have been reading since the New 52 and I know so many problems occurred with that reboot as a whole but the things they tried to do to fix it when it came to Teen Titans just did not work and only caused more problems.
I think there are two main areas that are harming the Teen Titans/Titans franchise. The staleness that comes with the same characters and the mixture of generations with disregard for age. I am first going to focus on the mixture of ages and generations. The way I view things you have characters based in four generations based on each Robin, however I am going to add in a generation called the animation generation of those heroes popularised by the show.
Dick Grayson (Gen 1) - This was the OG sidekick generation and then the earlier additions such as Bumblebee and Mal Duncan.
Animated Generation - Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Raven.
Jason Todd - I don't know how long he was on the team for but from a quick Google search he died two years after he joined so not much of a generation.
Tim Drake - So Tim is the third generation most known for his grouping but his generation has the second generation of other legacy roles such as Bart and Cassie being the second of their sidekick roles. Superboy was in theory first generation as a sidekick but if you count Superman's time as a Superboy in his youth he is the second.
Damian Wayne - The fourth gen is a mixture of random heroes with Superboy, Kid Flash, Red Arrow and Aqualad all of greatly varying ages but all feeling like they are from the same generation of heroes. I guess now Superboy is aged up but still, its a weird miah mash.
So they are roughly how I would characterise the heroes and what generation they are in. Five generations, four Robins. So when we got to New 52 we got given a Teen Titans of the third gen with Starfire and Cyborg shown as adults in other books and even Beast Boy was shown as being about to be an older teenager with the Ravagers. Not sure where Raven was to start with. They did a soft revamp that placed Raven and Beast Boy in with the third generation which was their first attempt to fix things. So we have the animation generation split wildly with some as adults and some as kids. So it is already stretching continuity and they were clearly placed there as they saw the book wasn't doing well and they wanted us to see people they knew we liked in order to pick it up.
Then came DC Rebirth and we get the fourth gen taking over, however they still want to capitalise off of that animation generation money so we get Raven and Beast Boy stick around for the next generation whilst Starfire is deaged but still the eldest to play the motherly role. So we have the animation generation who were practically apart of Gen 1 now being shown as contemporaries of Gen 4. That's just stretching all attempts as continuity. Instead of just allowing character progress DC wanted their faces to sell the books instead of you know, just creating good books. We then get a soft revamp after No Justice that takes Starfire back up to adulthood and Raven and Beast Boy up to Young Adult status. At least we got some progress, however what then happened leads me to my next point about staleness of the characters.
So again this next point is going to be split into two, there is a staleness around leadership and staleness over the use of characters from the animation generation. So in terms of leadership I am just bored of a Batboy being in charge. If you look at all the Teen Titans/Titans and Young Justice runs that have happened since New 52 I think only Donna Troy taking over as leader of the Titans has given us time without a Batboy in charge, and that only happened because of Nightwing getting shot in a different book. It wasn't natural progression. I think think something different needs to be done in terms of leadership to make things feel fresh. Having the book just be a way to get into the inner workings of a Robin juat isn't cutting it anymore.
Next is the staleness of the animation generation. I know they sell, but they clearly don't create good stories. We had Raven and Beast Boy in three different runs and Starfire in one of the runs. The animation generation have been the biggest part of Titans lore over the last ten years and it hasn't worked. Like I say, it was nice to have Raven and Beast Boy have progression and placed in the Titans after No Justice but it is crazy it took so long for it to happen. But not only were the individual characters themselves stale, they left a lasting impact that just felt stale. After No Justice we got a strong female alien (Starfire/Crush), a female magic user (Raven/Djinn) and a male Shapeshifter (Beast Boy/Roundhouse). It was just the animated lot in disguise and just felt stale, the stories were similar for the most part. At least with the girls. Djinn, like Raven, had a demonic relative whilst Crush, like Starfire, had a villainous relative. So both the leadership and the membership have just been stale for at least since Rebirth. I liked the post No Justice Titans team because we got characters mot usually seen and it felt new. It didn't work out because the desire for it to fold out of No Justice left it with bad stories and what happened to Nightwing didn't help.
So what I would recommend. First thing first brighten it up because it has been so gloomy with Damian in charge. Both the colours have all been dark and the mood has been dark. With the new launch make it. With the new book make it just brighter and I think my recommendations for leadership would so just that.
So I have two ideas for who could be leader and I think some interesting stories could come out of it. My first choice is Supergirl. As far as I am aware she is never really considered a part of Titans lore, I don't know if she has been on the team, but I just think it would be great to bring in someone so far removed from Titans history but still a very noticeable and powerful figure in the universe, both for the characters themselves and for the audience, it would get eyes back on the TT. Supergirl has just recovered from the Secret Six evilness and an interesting decision for her becoming leader is to remind herself she is a hero, and by teaching other heroes she is making herself feel more heroic. Not necessarily the best intentions for why she should be leader but that is something she would come to realise as the story goes on and grows into the leadership role. I think whereas Damian always saw the TT as the next generation of JL, I would want Supergirl to be showing the heroes that being on the TT puts you on the same level. It is the same level and she would work to put the TT on the same level. Both as in terms of fighting huge threats, but she would want the team to do more to help the little man. Work on the smaller scale sometimes.
My other recommendation, and not just because of the show, would be Stargirl. I know she is much more widely associated with JSA and this is very unlikely to happen. But I have this idea of a story where Courtney comes to be a leader of the TT. Due to her time on the JLU back in New 52 I would have her start off with a bloated ego as she considers herself a JL level hero. It isn't helped she has her own sidekick. Over the course of the story she would understand how easy it is having an adult sidekick because leading teenagers is so much harder with the hormones and melodrama. She also would lose respect of the team fairly early when she does pull the JL card and has to earn it back. Stargirl would not have it easy as leader, Supergirl would definitely find it easier, but both have stuff they need to learn from their time as leader. And to reiterate what I said earlier both have bright costume that instantly would brighten up the covers of the books.
If I was to pitch my own TT both would be on it, and it would look like this.
Supergirl - So I would have Supergirl as leader of the team, I think she would be most natural in the role and I do think that it would add some legitamacy to the TT to have a Kryptonian in control of the team.
Stargirl - Again, a lot of what I described earlier could still happen, just not with her as leader. I could see her respecting Supergirl but pulling the JL card on some of the other members.
Blue Beetle - I would carry on from the Rebirth Blue Beetle series where Ted is training Jaime so I would have him finance this team and remove all need for a Bat. I also want this team to have some adult supervision and would love to see a friendship grow between Pat and Ted as they start designing random stuff. But yeah, as much as I would carry on the training storyline I would retcon it back to where the Scarab is alien tech and not magic.
Vibe - I love Vibe and he was one of the few characters to come out of New 52 improved. He had a great new costume, a great book and now a JL member. The fact he then disappeared is frustrating.
Owlwoman - So this is a little known character but as I have tried my hand at writing story ideas in the past and just going through wiki pages of different teams and characters Owlwoman is always one who sticks in my mind. She is from the Global Guardians but I have a feeling she is shown as an adult when they were being used so I would deage her to the point she is the oldest on this team. But she is the most naive and newest to superheroics. Living in Oklahoma and not the major cities where most stuff goes on she has mainly just been helping the community and stopping muggings rather than any big supervillains stuff.
Crush - Now I know I said these characters are stale but I think only having one and away from formula would help. And what is crazy is I don't even like Crush that much still, but I think there potential and I think it always helps to have a character on the team you don't necessarily like. I also would have Crush become best friends with Supergirl, who Crush would respect so much more than Damian, and then have Superman and Lobo disapprove of it so much.
Aqualad - I was gutted when the first Rebirth run got cut shortly after he joined. I think he is a great character and you need at least one character who represents any of the OG sidekick characters
Other charactera I would have join or rejoin are: Bunker, Red Arrow, Equinox, Kid Flash, Jakeem Thunder, Offspring and Phantom Girl.
Now I know this team could encounter some problems because Supergirl is sort of a 1st gen character and could cause the sort of problems that I described the animation generation as having done over the last ten years but I think Supergirl is so widely seperated from other Teen heroes is might work out. It helps that most of the other heroes are widely removed still. Stargirl is shown as being so young because she has associated with mainly adults that will help people's mental image of her being a teenager. Blue Beetle is a relatively newer character so has never had a chance to age, Vibe is shown as around 18/19 most of the time and died in his original stories so never been seen as an adult. Again, I don't know about Owlwoman but she is so hardly known it wouldn't matter. And then Crush and Aqualad are shown as being part of this newest generation so that would not cause any problems.
I really think this team just adds much needed brightness and colour to a book that has been so dark and dreary. The staleness is removed but I have done it without creating any new characters and using characters who are well known, well liked (minus Crush and Owlwoman) but still have the potential to have new stories and earn new fans. The team is still powerful and can get to situations that the Justice League would get to. They have four fliers, a teleporter and someone who swims extremely fast. This isn't a bunch of teens who practically only have running available to them unless they use tech. The stories have a variation in potential due to where each of the characters come from as well.
